Food scraps

Fruit, vegetable, tea leaves, meat scraps and food leftovers can go in your green bin or home compost.

Remove teabag tags and fruit stickers as they contain plastic that does not break down in the composting process.

Meat and bones

  • All meat scraps and small bones can go in your green waste bin. To reduce smell, keep it in your fridge or freezer until bin collection day.
  • Small amounts of meat scraps may be placed in your home compost.
  • Dispose of carcasses (dead pets and animals) in your red landfill bin or find other facilities.
