Apply for a land information certificate

If you are buying or selling a property, you can get land information certificate from Nillumbik Shire Council for the Section 32 or Contract of Sale. 

A land information certificate provides information including:

  • all current valuations
  • rates – including arrears and interest
  • property debts 
  • orders and notices made under the Local Government Act or the Local Law
  • special charges (if any)
  • flood levels (if any)

Please note: anyone can apply for a land information certificate. However, if you are using a legal practitioner or conveyancer, they will apply for you.

How to apply

Apply online

Step 1.Register for eServices

If you don't have a Council eServices account, you will need to create one to apply for a land information certificate.

If you already have an eServices account, skip to step 2.

Register for Council eServices

  • New account registrations are processed within 2 business days.
  • You will receive an email once your account has been activated.

Step 2.Have your credit card ready

Please note we are unable to accept American Express or Diners Club.

Step 3.Log in to eServices

Once you have logged in, select 'Land Information Certificate' by clicking on the icon.

Step 4.Complete the online form

You will need to provide your address.

Fees

The fee for a land information certificate is $29.70, payable by credit card when you complete the online application.

This amount is correct as of 1 July 2024.

What happens next?

Your certificate will be emailed to you within three business days.
