If you see a fire that is a threat to people or property, call 000 immediately.
During the Fire Danger Period
Each year, the Country Fire Authority (CFA) declare a Fire Danger Period. The Fire Danger Period is commencing in Nillumbik at 1am on Monday 25 November 2024 and will remain in place until 1 May 2025, unless otherwise stated. During this period, the use of fire is restricted in the community to help prevent fires from starting.
The CFA has a list of what you can and can't do during the Fire Danger Period.
If you are aware of someone doing the wrong thing during the Fire Danger Period or on a Total Fire Ban day, you should call the fire brigade and/or police on 000.
Outside of the Fire Danger Period
If you are concerned about a burn outside of the Fire Danger Period which you believe may be illegal, you can let Council know and we will investigate.
