Report possible illegal burning

If you see a fire that is a threat to people or property, call 000 immediately.

During the Fire Danger Period

Each year, the Country Fire Authority (CFA) declare a Fire Danger Period. The precise dates of the Fire Danger Period change each year. During this period, the use of fire is restricted in the community to prevent fires from starting.

The CFA has a list of what you can and can't do during the Fire Danger Period.

If you are aware of someone doing the wrong thing during the Fire Danger Period or on a Total Fire Ban day, you should call the fire brigade and/or police on 000.

Outside of the Fire Danger Period

If you are concerned about a burn outside of the Fire Danger Period which you believe may be illegal, you can let Council know and we will investigate.
