Wedgetail Estate wines are cool climate Yarra Valley wines with a European influence. Single vineyard handcrafted wines which ferment on natural yeast and are stored in French oak barrels for up to 18 months.
The Wedgetail winemaking style is a fusion of centuries old world tradition, the new Australian reverence for grape quality, and owner and wine maker Guy Lamothe’s individual flair. All the wines are produced on site, the estate wines are all single vineyard wines with the fruit grown under Guy’s supervision.
Guy Lamothe developed his signature winemaking style from his experience in France and Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
He only produces as much wine as he can personally tend to and the fruit is hand picked over a long period, on a row rather than a paddock basis.
