First elected to Nillumbik Council in 2010, Cr Perkins was Mayor in 2012 and 2020, and has served on the Boards of the Municipal Association of Victoria and the Yarra Plenty Regional Library.
Cr Perkins is a life member of the Diamond Creek CFA and served as Captain (OIC) of the Brigade from 2000-2010. He joined the MFB (now FRV) as a career firefighter in 2003 where he still works.
As Nillumbik’s longest serving councillor, Cr Perkins has delivered a lot for the local community but feels there is still more to do.
In this Council term, he will continue his focus on improving community facilities and creating spaces and opportunities to bring people of all ages and abilities together. He is also committed to helping ensure that future housing developments don’t negatively impact local neighbourhood character or the delivery of much-needed Council services.
Cr Perkins has lived in the Diamond Creek area for most of his life, after growing up in Apollo Parkways. He is proud of his achievements on Council to date and looks forward to supporting the community of Diamond Creek to become an even better place to live, work and play.
