Nillumbik Shire Council, Edendale, Friends of Edendale and Melbourne Water are working together to build a healthier future for the Diamond Creek, and the wildlife it supports.
Join us at Rewilding the Diamond Creek for wildlife and community
Topics include:
- Keynote speaker: Ann McGreggor OAM – President of the Merri Creek Management Committee
- Keynote speaker: Josh Griffiths – Platypus Ecologist
- Melbourne Water: waterway strategies, plans and grant opportunities
- Nillumbik Counci: Diamond Creek vision, the role of Friends of Groups, Intro. to Nature Restoration
- Friends of Edendale: a walk and talk along the Diamond Creek and the FOE revegetation works
- Diamond Creek 2050: Pathways to a Thriving Future – Idea generation activity
The day will be broken into morning and afternoon sessions.
How the day will flow:
- Checkin (9:30am to 10:00am)
- The morning session (10:00am to 12:15pm) - Catchment Focus
- Light lunch will be provided from 12:15pm
- The afternoon session (1:00pm to 3:30pm) - Diamond Creek Focus
Come for the whole day or choose the morning or afternoon sessions.

Keynote Speakers
Ann McGregor OAM is an environmental planner who has been involved in Merri Creek organisations since 1976. She was a founder and co-convenor of Brunswick Merri Creek Action Group (1976-1989), Secretary of the Merri Creek Coordinating Committee (1980-1987), Secretary of Merri Creek Management Committee (2000-2012) and President since 2012. She has been a Friends of Merri Creek Committee member, Vice- President and co-ordinator of bird surveys for many years.
Josh Griffiths is the Senior Wildlife Ecologist and Program Manager at EnviroDNA. Josh has researched platypus ecology and population status for over a decade including the development of eDNA techniques to improve monitoring of this elusive species
