Family Fun Day at Diamond Valley Miniature Railway

Our popular annual free Family Fun Day to celebrate Children's Week returns to Eltham Lower Park.

Bring a picnic and enjoy free rides on the miniature railway, pram walks, pop-up playgroup, art and craft, mini golf and more.

Children’s Week is an annual event celebrated across Australia, recognising the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. The theme this year is ‘Children have the right to a clean and safe environment’.

This is a free event and no bookings are required.

This Children's Week event is presented by Nillumbik Shire Council in partnership with the Victorian Government.

Diamond Valley Miniature Train rides

Enjoy free rides on the miniature train.

Time: 10am to 2pm

Pram walks

Come and join Council's Maternal and Child Health nurses on a walk around the circuit at the Diamond Valley Miniature Railway.

Ask questions, share ideas and get outdoors with your baby.

Times: 10.30 to 11am, 11.30am to 12pm, and 12.30 to 1pm

Pop-up playgroup

Children can express their ideas and feelings about the environment through art and creative expression. They will have access to art and craft materials to create their own picture they can take home with them.

Time: 10am to 1pm

Cultural craft making

Join us for a cultural craft making session which provides children with a creative outlet while promoting sustainability through the use of environmentally friendly materials and practices.

The emphasis is on the importance of preserving natural resources and minimizing waste.

Mini-golf

Enjoy a round of mini-golf, presented by Yarrambat Park Golf Course.
