Banksia Palliative Care and Nillumbik Council have joined together to provide local residents with the chance to chat about the one inevitable in life.... death.

At a Death Cafe, people drink tea, eat cake and discuss death. Our aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.

The afternoon will include panel discussions, group conversations and a chance to debunk the myths of death and dying.

Facilitators will support conversation and discussion on topics such as preparing for death and experiencing bereavement over an afternoon of tea and scones.

Please note: The purpose of the Death Cafe is to provide an accessible space for discussion, rather than grief support or counselling. If you are interested in the event but unsure whether attending a Death Cafe at this time is for you, reach out to us at agedcare@nillumbik.vic.gov.au. For more details or to discuss how we can make this session inclusive or the information accessible for you please contact agedcare@nillumbik.vic.gov.au

This is a free event, however registration is required. Book your free spot now.
