Climate Cafe - Housing and Development in Nillumbik

Nillumbik Climate Action Team, a local community group, hosts talks on a range of topics relevant to climate change and Nillumbik, delivered by people (often local, always with expertise), followed by questions and informal discussion.

On Thursday 27 February, Anne Nielsen from (ECAG) is presenting on 'Housing and Development in Nillumbik - climate change implications'.

Anne will talk about Nillumbik Shire Council's Draft Housing Strategy 2024 (including a brief summary of what it says about climate change and environmental sustainability) and the State Government's housing target for Nillumbik.

She will include some examples of proposed developments in Eltham and their implications for things like urban heat island effects, loss of tree canopy and natural habitat, and design suitability in a changing climate.
