Plenty War Memorial Oval

Background

Plenty War Memorial Oval is home to Diamond Creek Women’s Football Club and Plenty Cricket Club. The current sports lighting was installed in 2010-11 at the oval and does not meet current requirements for training and games at night and in adverse conditions.

The upgrade project will include a 150 lux LED system to support improved light, energy efficiency and overall improvement to the capability of the facility into the future.

Funding

This project is being delivered by Nillumbik Shire Council in partnership with the Victorian Government through the Community Support Fund.

Council was successful in securing $203,000 through the Victorian Government’s 2023-24 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund to help deliver this project.

Works include

  • Removal of existing lighting system and poles
  • Installation of four new poles to support the lighting system
  • LED fittings to provide 150 lux levels with shields to manage light spill
  • Upgrade to the power supply and switchboards to support the new system
