Nillumbik is home to over 60 outdoor public play spaces, and Council is committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families by improving these spaces.

We understand the importance of quality outdoor play spaces, which provide opportunities for children to engage with the natural environment through cognitive, creative, physical and social types of play.

In addition to minor works occurring at various locations, several sites have been identified as priorities for 2024/2025 renewal works based on age, condition audits and levels of use by the community - this includes Parry Reserve in Eltham North, Diamond Hills Reserve in Greensborough, Jacaranda Drive Reserve in Diamond Creek, Pitt Street Reserve in Eltham, Eltham Lower Park in Eltham, and Oldstead Road Reserve in Greensborough.

Works planned for Pitt Street Reserve

The new play space will offer new swings and a slide, along with imaginative, creative and sensory play elements.

It will also include new monkey bars and an accessible feature, with the existing rocker to be replaced.

This playground is designed to cater for children aged 2 to 10 years.

Works are due to be completed by mid 2025.
