The revegetation project, located between the equestrian park and the new dog park, will focus on enhancing the local environment with a series of important works. These include site preparation, mulching, blackberry removal and new planting efforts.
This important project is a collaborative effort between Nillumbik Shire Council and local ‘Friends of’ community groups, in particular the Friends of Diamond Creek-Eltham Lower Park. The community are heavily involved in the project through design consultation and the planting process, which will be planted by Friends of groups and the community. The bulk of this planting will occur as part of National Tree Day on 12 July.
The upgrade is being funded as part of a $2 million commitment by the Federal Member for Jagajaga, Kate Thwaites MP, through the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Communities Program.
Site preparation works are underway with all planting works expected to be completed by end of September 2025.
