Nillumbik is home to over 60 outdoor public play spaces, and Council is committed to enhancing the lives of children and their families by improving these spaces.
We understand the importance of quality outdoor play spaces, which provide opportunities for children to engage with the natural environment through cognitive, creative, physical and social types of play.
In addition to minor works occurring at various locations, several sites have been identified as priorities for renewal works based on age, condition audits and levels of use by the community - this includes Campbell Street Reserve in Diamond Creek, Cooinda Reserve in Eltham, Glen Park Road Reserve in Eltham North, and Rodder Reserve in Eltham.
Campbell Street Reserve will undergo a minor transformation with the relocation of the playground structure from Ryans Reserve featuring a variety of engaging activities including a slide, balancing and strength equipment.
The area will also be further enhanced with an accessible concrete path connection, along with a new shelter, picnic table and accessible BBQ.
Works are expected to be completed mid-2024.
