Private building surveyors - online lodgement

Please note: if you are not a Building Surveyor and would like to apply for a new building permit, please refer to our information about submitting a building permit application. The following information is intended for Private Building Surveyors who wish to lodge a Section 30 permit to Council.

The Building Regulations require building surveyors to lodge all building permits with the relevant Council within seven days of issue.

What you can lodge via the portal

The following items can be lodged using our online portal by following the process below:

  • new building permits
  • stage permits

What you can lodge via email

The following items should be lodged via email to nillumbik@nillumbik.vic.gov.au once the initial Section 30 has been lodged:

  • further information
  • amended documents
  • certificate of final inspection/occupancy permits

How to apply

Apply online

Step 1.Make sure you can lodge on the portal

Items that can be lodged via the portal include:

  • new building permits
  • stage permits

Other items such as additional information, amended documents etc must be lodged via email.

Step 2.Format your documents

Documentation must be uploaded in PDF format and the combined file size must not exceed 50MB.

Step 3.Have your credit card ready

Please note we do not accept Diners Club and American Express.

Step 5.Make a note of your reference number

At the conclusion of lodgement, a reference number will be issued. Please use this reference number when submitting further information and finalisation of permits via email.
