Nillumbik has a range of advisory committees that provide an important mechanism for consultation with the community and key stakeholders.

Advisory committees provide advice to Council but don’t make formal decisions.

Mayor John Dumaresq said committee members provide invaluable information that helps enable Council to respond appropriately to community needs.

“If you are interested in taking an active role in communicating the views of your community to Council I encourage you to apply and I look forward to seeing all that you achieve,” Cr Dumaresq said.

Over the coming weeks Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the following committees:

Inclusion and Access Advisory Committee (IAAC)

The IAAC supports Council’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion for people with disability and carers in Nillumbik.

Council is seeking expressions of interest from:

  • Community representatives – people with disability, carers and disability advocates
  • Agency or disability service representatives from organisations that support people with disability or carers in Nillumbik.

Positive Ageing Advisory Committee (PAAC)

The PAAC supports Council in its commitment to older people and provides feedback and advice on priorities for positive ageing in Nillumbik.

Council is seeking expressions of interest from:

  • Community representatives
  • Service providers.

Recreation Trails Advisory Committee (RTAC)

The RTAC advises Council on the development and management of recreation trails.

Members help identify improvement opportunities for the existing trail network and advocate for future trail projects.

The Advisory Committee EOI's close on Monday 7 April.
