Two Nillumbik businesses were recognised for their exceptional work at the Northern Business Achievement Awards Grand Finale event last week, demonstrating the high calibre of talent in our region.
A Fitting Connection, a sustainable textile waste solution hub, which offers education, events and other initiatives won the Sustainability and Environment Award, while The Dattner Group, a leadership coaching and management consultancy took out the Human Resources Award.
Katrina Nash, Founder of A Fitting Connection said she was incredibly honoured to receive the Northern Business Achievement Award 2024 for Sustainable and Environmental Practices.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive the Northern Business Achievement Award 2024 for Sustainable and Environmental Practices. This recognition reflects our commitment to reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable practices through education and community support.
“At A Fitting Connection, we aim to inspire behaviour change by empowering individuals and organisations to make environmentally conscious choices, and this award reinforces the importance of our work in driving positive change,” Katrina said.
Zoe Dattner Director of the Dattner Group said the Group was rapt to receive this acknowledgement of their work.
“Dattner Group are fierce advocates of local government and the many brilliant people who work within them, and to receive recognition from the community we are so committed to supporting through our work as leadership and culture experts was a wonderful moment of shared mutual achievement – not just our own,” Zoe said.
The Mayor also highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of Azzy Light from EasyAz, Nillumbik’s nomination for the Young Business Achiever award.
“Azzy’s achievements underscore the promising future of our young business leaders and the supportive environment our municipality provides for their growth,” he said.
Nillumbik Mayor John Dumaresq said he was pleased to see small businesses in Nillumbik achieving great things.
“I congratulate this year’s nominees on their awards and commend the innovation and hard work that happens every day when running a small business,”
“The teams behind these award winning businesses should be incredibly proud of their achievements and the important contribution they provide to our community,” Cr Dumaresq said.
The Northern Business Achievement Awards are a partnership of industry, education and local and state government.
