Nillumbik Community Awards: Nominate our extraordinary locals

It’s time to celebrate the community heroes among us.
Do you know someone whose kindness, passion and hard work benefits our community?
Now’s your chance to give them or their community group the recognition they deserve.
Nominations are open for the Nillumbik Community Awards.
The Awards recognise the outstanding service and achievements of individuals and community groups in Nillumbik and celebrate significant contributions to the community across various fields, recognising efforts that boost community spirit and help make Nillumbik a great place to live.
Award categories include:
- Nillumbik Volunteer
- Nillumbik Community Group
- Nillumbik Young Citizen
- Contribution to Arts, Culture and Heritage
- Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion
- Contribution to Environment and Sustainability
- Contribution to Reconciliation
Mayor John Dumaresq said the Nillumbik community is filled with dedicated individuals who consistently support and improve the lives of others through their volunteer work and community service.
"This is your chance to acknowledge those in our community and local clubs who consistently go above and beyond," Cr Dumaresq said.
"Let's recognize and celebrate the people and groups that truly make Nillumbik a special place to live."
Some of the award recipients from the 2024 Community Awards include Warwick Leeson OAM who has actively served the community with dedication and enthusiasm through a diverse range for community groups; Bethany Woodman, a midwife and Research CFA volunteer firefighter, junior leader and CFA social media co-manager, and the small group of volunteers who run Boomerang Bags Nillumbik.

Nominations close Sunday 4 May and nominees will be shortlisted in early June, with the Awards Ceremony to take place on Thursday 14 August.
