Councillor Kim Cope is a professional mechanical engineer working in the fields of asset maintenance and business management. He has worked at a local, national and international level in the mining, food packaging, automotive, aircraft and shipping industries.
In this Council term, Cr Cope is looking forward to working with his fellow Councillors as we leave behind the Covid period, and focus on improving Nillumbik’s environment. He also recognises the challenges of balancing funding limitations with maintaining assets and servicing the needs of the community. He believes that as a Council we need to promote the wellbeing of Nillumbik with good and natural environmental credentials and a healthy community spectrum.
Cr Cope has lived in Kangaroo Ground since the early 1990s with his partner. They have raised their two children in Nillumbik, enjoying the great local schools, and football and basketball activities.
