Councillor Kelly Joy was elected to Edendale Ward for the 2024-2028 Council term.
In 2023, Cr Joy left the public service after 15 years, where she worked in regulatory policy in the areas of agriculture, biosecurity, food safety and public health. Cr Joy now consults on her areas of expertise and works as an academic in nutrition sciences.
For her first term on Council, Cr Joy is looking forward to getting to know the community and their needs. Her focus will be on enabling the community to live active healthy lives, as well as ensuring housing developments protect local character and the Green Wedge.
Cr Joy lives in Diamond Creek with her husband. As an Edendale resident with three small dogs, Cr Joy makes good use of the Diamond Creek Trail, walking the dogs or cycling to Hurstbridge or Eltham.
