The Connected St Andrews project grants focused on building strong community connections and relationships in and around St Andrews, to help people to manage better during and after an emergency like a storm or bushfire.

Community on the Move (auspiced by St Andrews Community Centre)

Community on the Move | $5,000
To connect St Andrews and surrounds (including Smiths Gully, Panton Hill, Cottles Bridge) residents with the rest of Nillumbik Shire community using a public transport system.

Frankie Lee Illustrations

Wadambuk Arts Hub | $4,000
Six free community events from February to April 2024, including four Arts Hubs to create collage, paint, draw or write, and two Sip and Paints. Open to all community members including surrounds.

Kevin Turley (auspiced by St Andrews Mens Shed)

Connecting St Andrews with its Gold Mining History, and local mining identities | $5,000
Community events at the Community Centre and local schools to show the history of mining and mining processes actually used.

Panton Hill Rural Fire Brigade

Community Bushfire Expo 2023 (CBE) | $5,000
Preparation for future bushfires by connecting residents directly with presenters, authorities, and vendors, to ask questions, share ideas and establish the important contacts and connections with people that can work together to build a stronger individual and community response that will plan, prepare and take actions to reduce the bushfire risk associated with living in one of the highest Bushfire risk areas in Australia. Providing information and presentations by experts on Bushfire Safety, showing residents how to reduce the Bushfire Risk for their family, home and property, including how to manage high fuel loads on both public and private lands.

St Andrews Festival Committee

St Andrews Community Festival - Children's Entertainment | $5,000
To provide a range of children's activities and amusements to bring local and surrounding families together. Activities may include, but are not limited to, a rock climbing tower, an animal farm, an inflatable slide and obstacle course, face painting and 'crazy bikes'.

Wadambuk St Andrews Community Centre

St Andrews Bush Dances | $5,000
Two autumn bush dances for the St Andrews community in the St Andrews Hall in March and May 2024, from 5.00 to 8.00 pm on market days with plans to have a food van with wood-fired pizza, or similar, onsite.
