Diamond Hills Preschool

Diamond Hills Preschool is a well known and respected preschool within the Nillumbik Shire; located its in own secluded space on Diamond Hills Drive Greensborough behind Melbourne Polytechnic and next to the Diamond Hills Reserve.

Offering both three year old and four year old programs, the Diamond Hills teaching staff provide a nurturing, stimulating and educational program through play based learning. The program caters for individual needs through activities presented in a way that encourages children to participate.

The program offered at Diamond Hills Preschool is based on a development approach. This means that there is a fundamental awareness and understanding of child development and this is used to plan experiences that are:

Implemented with attention to differing needs, interests and developmental levels of individual children
Based on a play orientated approach
Designed to challenge children's abilities and interests
Designed to encourage active participation in learning
Based on acceptance of each child - their skills, abilities, needs, interests and background.

Current parents and members of the community form the voluntary Committee of Management, managing the day to day running of the preschool, and responsible for its strategic direction and financial sustainability.
