Projects continue to support communities
There are many projects still on the go supporting the recovery process in Nillumbik. Volunteers are needed in a number of areas and more will be required in Spring 2010. If you are interested in helping please call the Hurstbridge Community Service Hub on 94333720. You will be added to our database and contacted as projects begin.
 
Fencing
Volunteers are urgently needed to assist with fencing in Nillumbik Shire. Do as little or as much as you like and pick up some great skills on the way!

Start date: Ongoing until early December

Time: 8am to 4pm Monday to Saturday

Frequency of involvement: From 1 day to multiple days.

Location: On bushfire-affected properties throughout Nillumbik and Whittlesea municipal areas.

Volunteer Activity Details: Assist skilled fencing contractor with general tasks involved with fencing. Must be physically fit and able and willing to be outdoors for the duration of the activity.

Organisation responsible for you: You will be covered by insurance held by Whittlesea Council and supervised by their paid and trained contractors Alex and Julie Sutherland.

What to Wear: Outdoor wear appropriate for the weather. Sturdy walking boots or shoes.

Skills and qualifications required: Volunteers with and without fencing skills needed.

Expenses: No fuel expenses are available. BYO lunch. Volunteers who come from interstate or further afield can be accommodated and fed on the coordinators property.
